What for the simplest of questions. Without Net

What is Net Neutrality? It is vital to society’s everyday life, and here’s why. Net Neutrality provides people with a clear understanding that a person has the freedom in how they want to use the Internet. It ensures one’s privacy to obtain, and share any information that they find on the Internet. It prevents huge corporations such as, Verizon or AT from charging people for certain services or applications  that are essential to a person’s everyday life.
Net Neutrality defines freedom, and without it people would have zero to no access even for the simplest of questions. Without Net Neutrality corporations can choose to what extent one can access a certain website. Corporations will begin to charge more to stream videos, and can limit access to certain sites. In a recent article posted by Pop-Sci a 2003 paper, in an attempt to define an already-understood vision of the internet written by Columbia Law professor Tim Wu, coined the term “Net neutrality is not just a way to manage traffic on the internet, but a fundamental philosophy about how innovation happens.”

The generation the American people are growing is being driven by the freedom we have with the internet. Without this basic human right there is no future of progress towards “A better tomorrow.” Jason Citron, CEO of the video-conferencing app Discord. Stated “Net neutrality is incredibly important for small startups like Discord because all internet traffic needs to be treated as equal for us all to have access to the same resources as the big companies.” This will not only affect the American people, but will begin to spread across the world to other countries. Something like this may grown into a more negative effect if it is removed completely.

Net Neutrality is beneficial not only to the American people, but especially to small owned businesses. A business such as discord, will not compare to a corporation such as T-Mobile. If the FCC chooses to vote against Net Neutrality, what they would be taking away from small owned businesses would be everything they have worked for. Without Net Neutrality not only will our freedom to information be taken away. But things such as email, access to daily news, mobile banking, etc. will be taken away, without payment.

The basis of net neutrality is making sure that the people have the freedom, and insurance to their own privacy when browsing the web.  It also includes equal opportunities for each business that holds a status online. Some states have taken action after the FCC vote in the past two days.  California will draft up a law as to why net neutrality is essential. New York City has filed a law suit against the FCC In order for this to be stopped, and many other states have began to fight the fight for our future.
