I believe that the
justice approach should influence the decision of managers when disciplining
workers who exhibit unethical behavior in the workplace. The Justice approach
are standards of equality and impartially. There are four types of the justice
approach. The first justice approach is distributive justice. Distributive justice
is a perception of inequality. For example, the salaries between workers. The
second justice approach is Procedural justice. Procedural justice is the idea
of fairness. For example, Managers in the work place should make decisions
fairly between the workers. The third justice approach is compensatory justice.
Compensatory Justice is where an organization compensates a party who they
injured for the suffering caused. For example, a case between a lawyer and a
defendant. The last justice approach is Retributive
justice. Retributive justice is primarily concerned with punishment. For
example, criminals are being punished for their wrongs doings by going to jail.
So therefore, I believe the justice approach should influence the decision of managers
when disciplining workers who exhibit unethical behavior in the workplace. Decisions
just require fairness, equity, and impartiality. Managers which are decision
makers should respect workers at all times and treat everyone fairly the same. If
it come to a point where workers are constantly performing unethical behavior after
being told the first time, I believe retributive approach should take place where
workers should face consequences.
